An Evening with Yusef Salaam

March 7 at 7 p.m.

Centennial Hall

At the age of 15, Yusef Salaam was wrongfully convicted of the 1989 rape of a woman in Central Park, NY along with 4 other young men of color, who collectively became known as the "Central Park Five". In 2002 the New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan set aside all five convictions when another man confessed to the crime and DNA evidence supported the claim. Salaam is now recognized as a member of "The Exonerated Five".

Since his release, Salaam has gone on to earn his doctorate and is an inspirational speaker. Join us for his lecture about the serious topic of the justice system and his personal journey since his wrongful conviction.

Free and open to the public, but advance reservation is required.
