THE LARAMIE PROJECT

By Moises Kaufman                          Directed by Rebecca Frick

In October of 1998 twenty-one-year-old Mathew Shepard was kidnapped, severely beaten and left to die, tied to a fence in the middle of the praire outside of Laramie, Wyoming. His body was not discovered until the next day, and he died several days later in an area hospital. Kaufamn and the Tectonic Theater Project students conducted more than 200 interviews with the people of Laramie about their reactions to this horrific event and created this theatrical collage that will hold the audience spellbound.
