Glass, toothpaste, paper—everyday products made possible by a mineral most people have never heard of: trona. In fact, 100 percent of U.S. glass relies on trona mined in Wyoming. Yet the vast underground world that fuels this $470 million (and growing) industry remains largely invisible to the public.

This one-hour documentary takes you deep into the heart of the Wyoming trona mines, where workers navigate massive subterranean cities and operate heavy machinery to extract this essential mineral. Along the way, you'll meet the people behind the process—the miners whose labor supports local communities through millions in state taxes and royalties.

Join us underground and discover what it truly means to be a Wyoming trona miner.

Uncle Kippy will keep ya Laughin' All Night Long!
Kip was born in Mount Pleasant, Texas and later moved to Idaho in "The Winter of ‘72" to avoid the Titus County jail. He began to hang around with undesirables like Pinto Bennett and Muzzie Braun. Attaway’s first LP release charted songs in the top 100 such as "Rock Springs to Cheyenne" and "Wild Western Wind Blown Band." He took his band to California and entered the Marlboro Country Music Talent Roundup and took first place. After the band split up Kip took up residence in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Kip is responsible for introducing various artists to some prominent writers.

When Jerry Jeff Walker came to town, Kip opened the show and Jerry liked a song from his set so much he wanted to learn it. Kip taught him "Trashy Women" thus introducing him to the songwriter Chris Wall. Kip is also responsible for introducing Robert Earl Keen to the music of Fred Eaglesmith.

Since then Kip has released twelve more CDs and tours relentlessly.

His solo career has evolved into a combination of comedy, music and mayhem. He has entertained all over the world, including Hawaii, Bermuda and Australia. Kip is a favorite at the Catch a Rising Star comedy club, and stays busy livening up the corporate party circuit with his parodies and impersonations poking fun at rock&roll and country music.
