The Sacramento Master Singers invite you to experience New Voices, New Directions—a bold, exhilarating celebration of today’s most compelling choral composers. This dynamic program shines a spotlight on the vibrant creativity of contemporary voices, with special emphasis on the powerful contributions of women shaping the modern choral landscape.
Be swept away by Andrea Ramsey’s radiant Come and I Will Sing You, thrilled by the driving energy of Hyo-Won Woo’s Cum Sancto Spiritu, and immersed in the luminous beauty of Sarah Quartel’s Density of Light, resounding with the grandeur of pipe organ. We will also present Jake Runestad’s Come to the Woods, featuring the awe-inspiring words of John Muir as he reflects on the majestic trees of the Sierra Nevada—music that invites us to reconnect with nature’s grandeur and stillness.
But this concert offers more than breathtaking music—it marks an exciting moment in the life of the Sacramento Master Singers. Artistic Director Ralph Hughes welcomes Dr. Brett Epperson to the podium in a special preview of the ensemble’s next chapter. Beginning in the 2026–2027 season, Dr. Epperson will lead the choir into a new era of artistry and innovation.
Come feel the energy. Hear the future. Witness a choir inspired by fresh vision and fearless creativity.
New Voices, New Directions promises an unforgettable evening of musical brilliance and forward-looking choral excellence.
