The Grand Drama & Comedy Club proudly presents its 2026 musical production, A GREATER LOESSER MOMENT, a tribute to Frank Loesser created by playwright Robert O. Davis and adapted by the very talented Matt Newhard. This is an original compilation by Davis of Loesser's works, coupled with Newhard, who adapted the storyline to bring to life a musical journey through the decades that is not to be missed.
Loesser was an American songwriter who wrote music and lyrics for dozens of films and Broadway musicals, such as Guys and Dolls and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
Synopsis: In a down-on-its-luck bar, seven strangers wander in off the street and are swept into an unforgettable night where music and memory intertwine. This chance encounter blossoms into unexpected friendships, demonstrating how the power of song can bring people together. Audiences will be carried through decades of Loesser’s remarkable career with 27 timeless numbers—favorites like “Luck Be a Lady,” “Once in Love with Amy,” “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” “Standing on the Corner,” and “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” Between the songs, glimpses of Loesser’s own story unfold, from Hollywood hits to wartime anthems to Broadway triumphs, reminding us that his legacy lives on every time his words are sung. Nostalgic, joyful, and deeply human, A GREATER LOESSER MOMENT is both a heartfelt tribute and a lively celebration of one of America’s greatest musical storytellers.
