The Sleeping Beauty
April 17 - 19, 2026
The Huntsville Ballet Company takes the stage of the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall once again in April to close its 62nd season with the spellbinding classical fairytale ballet The Sleeping Beauty. The Sleeping Beauty tells the story of Princess Aurora, cursed in her infancy by the Fairy of Darkness to die on her sixteenth birthday from pricking her finger on a spindle. The Lilac Fairy intercedes to lessen the curse to a sleeping spell of 100 years, breakable only by a true love's kiss. This classical fairytale ballet incorporates enchantment, suspense, and passion set to Peter Tchaikovsky's iconic score.
