The Emmy-Award-wining creative team behind the upcoming mystery thriller DOWN BELOW will be in town as part of the Middlebury New Filmakers Festival and needs YOU to help film a pivotal scene. They're filming a symphony standing ovation scene and are hoping to pack the house with elegantly dressed audience members.
Dress Code
Business formal to cocktail attire. Think what you'd wear to an important work event or wedding.
For everyone: Dress pants or skirts, dress shirts, blouses, blazers, sport coats, or dresses.
Men: Consider a tie or at least a collared shirt with a blazer.
Women: Dresses, skirt suits, or dressy separates work well.
Avoid: Jeans, t-shirts, shorts,
What to expect
• Light refreshments and a cash bar opens at 5:30pm
•Arrive by 6:30pm to complete paperwork
•Filming begins at 7:00pm in the main theater
• Multiple takes of applause and standing ovations from different camera angles
• Release forms provided upon arrival
• Event ends around 9:00pm
About the film: DOWN BELOW follows a reclusive classical composer who discovers mysterious sounds at her family's lake house. The film is written and directed by Emmy Award-winning team Matt Valdez and Collin Davis, with a score by Zach Robinson (Netflix's Cobra Kai).
The filmmakers are in town as part of the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival and will be speaking on the panel "Inside the Edit: Shaping Indie Film" at 9am Saturday, August 23rd at the Crooked Ladle. This filming event offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at how movies are made.
