An Evening with Michael Stephen Brown
Friday, February 20th at 7:30pm
Composer-pianist Michael Stephen Brown, a born-and-bred New Yorker hailed by The New York Times as “one of the leading figures in the current renaissance of performer-composers,” invites you into his musical living room for a warm, fireside evening at the piano. The program features music by Frédéric Chopin, Felix Mendelssohn, Maurice Ravel, and Aaron Copland, alongside Brown’s own music from Twelve Blocks, his debut album as a composer, released February 13. Woven throughout are stories, humor, and a preview of his upcoming La Musica commission, The Carnival of Endangered Wonders, premiering April 9 and 10.
