Lubar's unadorned "theatre of the miraculous" is a kind of magical crucible in which to bear witness to the tragedies and to revel in the majesty of the human condition with gusts of laughter as well as tears, and to celebrate the possibilities for survival, healing and change within ourselves and a world at the edge.

Her new play is both an aging actress's hilarious and moving love letter to her audiences, and an honoring and celebration of old women - all of them equally grand at raising heaven and raising hell, all of them fiercely, if invisibly, holding the threads of the world together.
