The Four Tops, one of MOTOWN’s most prominent groups, were formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1953. They achieved immense success as one of the most influential American Pop groups of the 1960s, significantly contributing to the international recognition of Motown Records. The group consisted of Levi Stubbs, Abdul Duke Fakir, Renaldo Obie Benson, and Lawrence Payton. Their most notable Billboard Number One hits include “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)” in 1965 and “Reach Out I’ll Be There” in 1966.
