Walk Right Up to the Sun: by Shernā Ann Phillips, Ph.D. ("Dr. Nae")
Walk Right Up to the Sun by Shernā Ann Phillips, Ph.D. ("Dr. Nae") is a one-woman choreopoem set in Baltimore that follows Rully as she journeys from fatherless childhood to hard-won motherhood. Guided by a griot chorus that weaves poetry, song, and story into her search for joy, identity, and a long-lost sister, Rully confronts old wounds and embraces love, family, and new beginnings. She learns to “walk right up to the sun,” discovering fulfillment in both the light and shadows of her life. Based on a true story.
