Awards: Best Music Doc - SXSW

Join The Wimberley Players for a special one-night film event celebrating the heart of Texas live music.

We are proud to present Nothing Stays the Same: The Story of The Saxon Pub, an award-winning documentary that tells the story of Austin’s legendary Saxon Pub and the community of musicians, songwriters, and music lovers who have kept its stage alive for decades.

More than just a music venue, The Saxon Pub represents the soul of a changing city and the power of live music to bring people together. This film captures that spirit through unforgettable performances, personal stories, and a behind-the-scenes look at one of Texas’ most beloved listening rooms.

🎤 Special Guests in Attendance:
Director Jeff Sandmann, Producer Lisa Kay Pfannenstiel, and Producer/Programmer Jeffrey Brown will join us for a post-film Q&A moderated by Coach Smith of KWVH Wimberley Radio. A musician featured in the film may also appear as a special guest.

Whether you love live music, Texas culture, or great storytelling, this promises to be a meaningful and entertaining evening.
