Making God Laugh follows one American family, checking in on them every 10 years during four holiday gatherings—Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and Easter. Children become adults, parents age, and life takes unexpected turns, bringing humor and bittersweet honesty to the phrase “If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans.”
