The Light in the Piazza

USD Opera presents The Light in the Piazza with a book by Craig Lucas and music and lyrics by Adam Guettel, on the main stage with orchestra.

As American Margaret Johnson and her daughter, Clara, take in the wonders of Florence, a fateful gust of wind whisks Clara's hat into the hands of local dreamer Fabrizio Naccarelli... and it's amore at first sight. But Clara isn't quite what she appears, and soon everyone must confront a secret that's been kept in the shadows for far too long.

Directed by Dr. Tracelyn Gesteland, and accompanied by the USD Opera Orchestra conducted by Dr. Chun-Ming Chen.

Performed on the Aalfs Auditorium stage in Slagle Hall, May 2, 7:30 p.m. and May 3, 3 p.m.
