The Duke’s court is fueled by gossip and humiliation, and no one wields them better than the sharp-tongued jester himself. Rigoletto ridicules others for the amusement of his womanizing master, but away from the court he is a devoted father, determined to keep his daughter hidden from the Duke’s dangerous desires. When a nobleman curses Rigoletto, the jester dismisses it until tragedy begins closing in around him.
