Macbeth is a story about a Scottish general who becomes king after three witches tell him he will be. Driven by ambition and his wife, he kills the current king and others to keep his crown, but his guilt and paranoia grow until he is overthrown and killed. The story focuses on his rise and fall due to unchecked ambition.
