Set in the Deep South in 1948, this is the story of Daisy Werthan, a sharp-tongued, rich widow, and Hoke Colburn, her chauffeur. In a series of absorbing scenes spanning twenty-five years, the two, despite their mutual differences, grow ever closer to, and more dependent on, each other.
