Founded by Dr. Christina Howell and conducted by Samantha Burgess, Symphony Tierra is something genuinely distinct in the Napa Valley: a project-based orchestra that treats every concert as both a musical event and a community gathering. This project-based ensemble presents an innovative combination of student musicians, community players, and professional artists for an afternoon of orchestral music that is as welcoming to first-time concertgoers as it is satisfying for lifelong classical music lovers.

Notes from Vienna takes audiences on a journey through the music of one of the great capitals of the orchestral tradition. The program draws from the rich legacy of Viennese composers whose work shaped what orchestral music became: elegant, expressive, and built for the pleasure of listening.
