Sammy and Brothers

Sammy and Brothers will perform an all-ages show at SAGES Downstairs at the Latchis on Saturday, May 23 at 2:00PM. There will be a reception with the band immediately following the performance. Kids 10 and under are free of charge.

Sammy and Brothers blend traditional African styles from DR Congo and East Africa with western arrangements and message-driven songwriting. They have always aimed to bring peace and joy to the hearts of people listening to their music.

Their uplifting and interactive performances break down barriers between the band and the audience, getting people singing and dancing in shared celebration of life and song. The group has been named a Latchis Arts Artist in Residence in support of their musical endeavors.

Siblings Israel Mbombo, Samuel Divinda (known as Sammy), Gershom Mbombo and Shekinah Pemba have been playing together as a family from a young age. They met Noah Stires at church, and immediately connected through music.

This fundraising performance will enable them record their first album at Northfire Recording Studio in Amherst, MA. The recording will be produced by Garrett Sawyer and Peter Siegel of the regional favorites Gaslight Tinkers band. Sammy and Brothers plan a return to SAGES once the recording is complete for a record release party.
