IGNITE! 2026 - SUGAR
Wed, June 3 at 8:15pm
Thurs, June 4 at 8:15pm
SUGAR is an interdisciplinary solo performance that explores addiction, survival, and recovery through Indigenous storytelling, theatre, and movement.
While addiction is the entry point, the work expands to address gaps in mental health care, systemic barriers within health systems, and the ongoing impact of violence in Indigenous communities. It is grounded in lived experience, but it is not only personal. It asks how trauma lives in the body, and what it means to take accountability, reconnect, and rebuild.
The piece moves through multiple states using text and physical performance. It shifts between vulnerability, harm, memory, and moments of awareness. At its core, SUGAR is about survival and the process of finding a way forward.
