One Man, Two Guv'nors

Written by Richard Bean
Directed by Ellyn Essig

Adapted from Carlo Goldoni's 18th-century Italian farce and now set in swinging 1960s Brighton, England, this nearly indescribable comedy focuses on a down-on-his-luck musician who takes on two bosses (a gangster and an upper-class snob), and must keep them from discovering each other. Fast-paced and featuring astounding physical comedy, the show also includes audience interaction and live music, and made a star of James Corden, who won the Tony Award for his lead role in the Broadway production. "Don't worry about knowing anything about Goldoni's play or take the re-jiggered plot too seriously. Instead, just sit back and enjoy what is essentially a mindless but rib-tickling vaudeville show directed, staged and performed with great flair." (CURTAIN UP)
