Skylark
Skylark, the acclaimed string quartet derived from the Vermont Symphony Orchestra is making its Brattleboro area debut with two concerts in July, including on Sunday July 12, at 5:00pm, at the Latchis Theater.
SKYLARK is an innovative contemporary string ensemble based in northern Vermont. With decades of experience, Skylark's sound and repertoire challenge the boundaries between classical, folk and modern idioms, creating inspired original works for all audiences. Influenced by the Nordic, Celtic and American regions, Skylark’s programs feature arrangements and compositions by sonic trailblazers such as Väsen, the Danish and Turtle Island String Quartets, Dreamers' Circus, Pete Sutherland, and many more. At its heart, Skylark’s music is melody-driven with unique energy, irresistible flair and undeniable beauty.
Tickets for the Skylark performance at the Latchis are $20, available in advance at latchis.com, and at the door.
The events are a collaboration among the Brattleboro Area Interfaith Leadership Alliance (BAILA) and three area nonprofits: Latchis Arts, manitouproject.org (Community with Nature), and highergroundconservburial.org, together celebrating the uplifting, natural connections in the flow of conscious living to conscious dying that feeds our soul, our community, and the living earth.
The occasion marks Higher Gound’s opening after seven years’ navigating the uncharted waters of becoming the first conservation burial ground in the state of Vermont.
