La vie secrete
By, Mohammad El-Khatib (France)
Co-presented with the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art
Feb 26–27 2027

A leading figure in documentary fiction, Mohamed El Khatib’s newest show La Vie Secrete revisists the past loves, sexual escapades, and present desires of eight senior citizens on a ballroom dance floor. Based on a hundred interviews, this explosive new piece of documentary theatre breaks the taboo of older sexuality, and provides an intimate look into the lives and desires of our elders.
