THE OCEAN HATES YOU! with Forrest Shaw is a wildly funny, surprisingly insightful, and deeply relevant evening of stand-up comedy from a performer uniquely qualified to tackle one of the biggest issues of our time.
Before becoming a nationally touring comedian, Forrest Shaw spent more than a decade as a marine and environmental biologist working throughout Florida’s fragile coastal ecosystems. He led Miami-Dade County’s Manatee Protection Program, managed large-scale water-quality and habitat-monitoring projects, and worked extensively with coral reefs, seagrass communities, sea turtle habitats, and coastal conservation initiatives.
Through sharp stand-up, audience interaction, trivia, storytelling, and a healthy dose of dark humor, THE OCEAN HATES YOU! dives headfirst into pollution, overfishing, climate change, plastics, and the strange ways humans continue to sabotage the very ecosystem that keeps us alive. But beneath the laughs is something more powerful: perspective, awareness, and genuine hope.
For Lincoln City, this message carries particular meaning. The ocean is not simply scenery here. It is the heart of the town’s identity, history, culture, and way of life. From generations of artists, surfers, environmentalists, photographers, and ocean lovers to the protected coves and marine habitats that define Oregon’s coastline, the relationship between this community and the ocean runs deep.
As a comedian, Forrest Shaw has appeared at Netflix Is A Joke Fest, Just For Laughs Montreal, and Moontower Comedy Festival, with television appearances on Conan, Live at Gotham, and Jim Jefferies and Friends. His debut comedy special, Poor Decisions, is available on Amazon.
