Detailed Description of Event: The Burrell Observatory is proud to host an open house program as part of nthe Reinhold and Margaret Kader Memorial Lecture Series on Saturday September 12, 2026, at 7:30 PM. Dr. Michael Cushing of the University of Toledo Physics and Astronomy Department will present a lecture entitled: "Brown Dwarfs: The Connection Between Stars and Planets". Brown dwarfs are unique substellar objects that bridge the gap between the most massive gas giant planets and the least massive main-sequence stars. Often called "failed stars”, they provide a perfect, glare-free environment for scientists to study planet-like atmospheres.
