Town Hall Theater Young Company Classical Presents:
Antigone
Friday, August 14 at 7pm
Saturday, August 15 at 2pm
Sunday, August 16 at 2pm
Directed by
Lindsay Pontius and Keziah Wilde
How shall we act? What must I do? What does it mean to be a human being?
For centuries Antigone, written by Sophocles around 440 BCE, has put these questions before an audience. The 16 member ensemble time travels, rocks out and cajoles the audience with humor and pathos bringing to life the world of ancient Greece and making it have meaning today.
About Young Company Classical
Young Company Classical is a three-week summer program where teens take on a classic play and perform it three times for a live audience. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Young Company, and Antigone is a fitting way to celebrate. There is something here for everyone. Music, dance, strong ensemble work, and roles that challenge the actors who take them on. Antigone is the Olympics of acting and a perfect play for young performers, with a hero who stands up to authority in a world turned upside down. The company works hard, has fun, and makes something that changes hearts and minds.
