CAE with Special Guest Soloist Alfrelynn Roberts presents Spiritual Reflection: Music of the Soul

As one of the largest bodies of American folk song to reach the twenty-first century, African American Spirituals reflect the complexity and contradictions of the nation's history, with songs of deeply meaningful, human experiences, relevant to struggles of justice, freedom and spiritual wholeness in all times and places. We are very excited to welcome guest soloist Alfrelynn Roberts, who, in addition to serving as Artistic Director of Portland Opera, is also a celebrated and accomplished performer and former member of the Moses Hogan Singers. Join us as we explore this powerful and inspirational musical heritage that occupies an important place in the tapestry of American music.
