Adapted from Rudyard Kipling's most unsettling short story, Mary Postgate is a taut, single-set chamber piece about grief, repression, and the terrible clarity of revenge. Set against the smoke of a garden incinerator on an ordinary English afternoon, it asks what happens when a lifetime of swallowed rage finally finds somewhere to go.

Kipling wrote it in 1915 and readers have argued about it ever since. Come see why — and decide for yourself whether Mary Postgate is a monster, a mourner, or simply, finally, herself.
