An intimate SCRIPT-in-hand READING SERIES

This long-running LTM program provides free, one-night-only, script-in-hand readings of established plays and new works. This series supports Little Theatre's mission to develop art and artists by offering local talent a platform to gain performance experience before a live audience in a casual, minimally produced environment. Admission is free, and donations are welcome.

The greatest American songwriter you've never heard of

The Golden Age of Song Symposium is celebrating its seventh year in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and you're invited! Well, sort of. It's actually happening at the Little Theatre of Manchester.

Luke Nelson's new musical takes you back to that song-filled stretch of Manhattan known as Tin Pan Alley, with stories and tunes straight out of the golden era, all from the pen of the famously unknown songwriter Tin Pan Sally. You'll hear how and why she never found recognition while working a few steps behind George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, and Cole Porter. You'll hear the songs that survived her many failed theatrical productions. And you'll meet Doylestown's finest song stylists as they make the most of these unsung gems.

Nelson began work on TIN PAN SALLY during his years in Chicago, as a follow-up to his most recently produced show. It was shelved for a while and is now making its very first public presentation here at LTM. Inspired by the women who really did shape the Great American Songbook, and steeped in 1930s Tin Pan Alley style, it's best described as a musical documentary of a life that could have been: lampooning the era's songwriting while paying heartfelt tribute to it.
