We are screening the latest documentary from Simcoe director Daryl Granger who brought you 'Netting the Waters' and 'Young Farmer'.

'SHOWMEN' is a documentary that documents a full year with the World’s Finest Shows, which was formerly associated with Conklin. This film provides an intriguing exploration of a traveling carnival featuring over 50 rides, game booths, and food kiosks, reflecting a significant segment of mobile carnivals throughout North America.

Beginning in January during the off-season, the film emphasizes the crucial processes of event organization, acquiring necessary permits, and managing staff, illustrating how a small town evolves into a vibrant festival.

Viewers will meet the showmen—historically called “carnies”—with a focus on using respectful terminology. Their passion and expertise are vital for animating the carnival experience.
