In Salem, Massachusetts, in 1692, a group of young girls is discovered dancing in the woods. What begins as an effort to avoid punishment quickly becomes something far more dangerous: an accusation, then another, until fear and suspicion consume an entire community. Arthur Miller’s enduring drama follows the people caught inside that unraveling — neighbors turning against neighbors, private grievances becoming public weapons, and individuals forced to decide what they are willing to sacrifice to protect their names, their families, and the truth. Written in 1953, The Crucible is both a gripping account of the Salem witch trials and a timeless examination of what happens when accusation becomes its own form of power. Recommended for ages 13+.
