In addition to covering music and theatrical concepts, young actors will learn beginner-friendly musical numbers from popular musicals and present them in a song & dance performance at the end of the 10-week class!
FF: Pirates & Mermaids	4:30-5:45pm	20	Pirates & Mermaids Grades 1-2 $225 Meets Tuesdays, Sept. 15th - Nov. 17th at Washington St. United Methodist Church, 4:30-5:45pm Ahoy matey! Join us as we travel the seven seas in search of buried treasure and mythical creatures. We’ll explore islands and adventure in this 10-week, imaginative play drama class. Actors will search for treasure while learning the tools of an actor, and will even present their own themed play!
TS: Dungeons & Drama	4:30-5:45pm	15	Dungeons & Drama Grades 7-12 $225 Meets Tuesdays, Sept. 15th - Nov. 17th at Washington St. United Methodist Church, 4:30-5:45pm Calling all adventurers! Characterization, improvisation, cooperative storytelling- these are skills that are invaluable for any actor. Dungeons and Dragons offers a unique opportunity to develop these skills. Join D&D aficionado, Toby O’Connor, on a roleplay-heavy quest as players dive into this popular tabletop game in this 10-week campaign. No experience required!
TS: From Concept to Creature: The Industry SFX & Makeup Intensive	4:30-5:45pm	15	TS: From Concept to Creature: The Industry SFX & Makeup Intensive Grades 7-12 $225 Meets Mondays, Sept. 14th - Nov. 16th in CCT’s Shop (1060 Chris Dr. Unit D, West Columbia, SC 29169), 4:30-5:45pm Transform your teen’s passion into the high-value, professional skills that casting directors and elite theatre programs look for. This intensive goes beyond cosmetics to teach the complete visual narrative. Held behind the scenes in our costume shop, students gain exclusive access to our full collection of costumes and wigs to develop a character entirely their own. Participants will then experience the full spectrum of character creation, combining SFX makeup and prosthetics with custom costuming and wig styling. Following their showcase, one student from this course will be invited to participate in a paid internship experience. This experience will be in a real, professional environment with our industry partner. Please note that although all students will participate in the class, only students aged 14 and up may be considered for the internship portion.
TVY: Mythical Creatures	4:30-5:45pm	15	TVY: Mythical Creatures Grades 3K-5K $225 Meets Thursdays, Sept. 17th - Nov. 19th, Washington St. United Methodist Church, 4:30-5:45pm Calling all young fantasy lovers! This fall, we’re going to learn all about mythical creatures through drama. Whether their favorite is unicorns, dragons, or BigFoot, students will grow their imagination and build skills in creativity and literacy! This play-based class will use stories, music, crafts, and games to introduce our youngest actors to the world of theatre.
YE: Making a Scene: Disney Edition	4:30-5:45pm	20	YE: Making a Scene: Disney Edition Grades 3-6 $225 Meets Fridays, Sept. 18th - Nov. 20th, Washington St. United Methodist Church, 4:30-5:45pm Specially designed for students in the middle grades, “Making a Scene” leads young performers through an exploration of the actor’s toolbox (voice, body, & imagination), with a special focus on imagination! This class will hone these skills for young actors while they devise their own short play to be performed at the end of the 10 week course. This is perfect for all those young performers who also like to make up their own stories and plays! This fall, we’ll be bringing a team of Disney characters together for our short play. Will Jafar meet Olaf and become best buddies? Perhaps Sebastian and Tamatoa exchange notes on being a crustacean! There’s only one way to find out what happens when these characters from different worlds come together!
YE: Stars in the Making: Villains	4:30-5:45pm	20	Stars in the Making: Villains Grades 3-6 $225 Meets Thursdays, Sept. 17th - Nov. 19th, Washington St. United Methodist Church, 4:30-5:45pm Are you a singer? A dancer? Maybe an actor? All three? You’re on your way to becoming a triple threat! Stars in the Making is an intro to musical theatre class for the middle grades, where young performers will learn songs and choreography from popular musicals to be presented at the end of the 10-week class. This fall, we’re putting a twist on the class by featuring songs from our favorite villains including Scar, Ursula, Gaston, and more!
