During this Young Company in Training camp, participants receive a real taste of our intensive month-long drama program. Participants will dive into a week of intensive acting techniques, where they will dissect scripts, delve into characters, and refine their dramatic skills.
Participants will elevate their theatre skills and push them toward honing their understanding of emotional depth, dialogue dynamics, and stage presence. The camp concludes with a showcase, spotlighting the captivating scenes performed by each participant.

In this 2 week Young Company in Training camp, participants receive a real taste of our intensive month-long musical theatre program. They will spend their first week in our rehearsal space exploring storytelling through song, learning musical numbers, choreography and growing their vocal and acting skills. During their second week campers will move to their performance space to experience transitioning from rehearsing to performance. Campers will be introduced to elements of theatrical design and learn how to enhance storytelling by adding costumes and props to their show. This second week develops confidence in their performance skills as they prepare to share their talents during a final performance.
During this camp, participants will also receive an exclusive first look at the Young Company Musical show by spending one of their days of camp at the Theatre Orangeville Opera House, watching the dress rehearsal and meeting with the cast and creative team.
Throughout this 2 week experience, these budding performers immerse themselves in the magic of musical theatre, fostering their singing, dancing, and acting techniques through fun-filled and meaningful exercises and activities.

The Theatre Orangeville Drama Young Company program aims to provide a unique opportunity for talented and hard-working young people in grades 7-12 who are looking for an in-depth theatrical experience. An audition is required for entry into this summer program and concludes with a fullscale production at the end of the 4 weeks of the intensive and fun-filled rehearsal process. |
