A course focusing on the most important tool to an actor: Yourself! In this workshop, we will learn what it means to be an actor and how to bring yourself to the stage in any play or musical. We will work with short monologues and scenes to explore where to start with new material so you can master any role thrown your way. (For those of you who already took Acting Inside Out in June, the material will be different and I can help you dive even deeper than before!) This class will run for 3 weeks.

This advanced level class will build on our ASL basics for conversational purposes and just for fun! We will continue to perfect our song while also working on the crucial facial expressions that accompany ASL to portray meaning. We will also discuss how to portray characters and traits while signing with your movements instead of the voices the actors use.

We will learn some basic American Sign Language to aid in the process of learning a song by the end of the session to 'perform.' As a group, we will decide more of the specifics of what we want to learn including animals, colors, numbers, foods, etc. The goal of the class is to introduce you to this beautiful language and give you a taste of what it looks like to interpret for a theater production.
