Based on the hit movie and Broadway musical, Elf Jr. tells the story of Buddy, an orphan human raised as one of Santa's elves. Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

This class, designed for 6th -12th grade students, starts with the experience of auditioning and continues with the creation of a character, memorization of lines and a full performance with costumes and makeup on December 10th at 7 pm, December 11th at 2 pm and 7 pm and December 12th at 2 pm.

Please note that because Elf Jr is a musical production we are requiring that all students show proof of COVID vaccination no later than October 26, 2021.  Go to www.acttheatre.com/fall-classes for more information.

Superhero Stories 10 5

K - 2nd:  Ages 5-8

Fridays, October 1st - November 5th

4:15 pm - 5:30 pm

To the rescue!  All of the superheroes have been invited to the Superhero Awards Ceremony to share their greatest adventures! In this class designed for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students, each actor will create a unique personality for a superhero character to help tell this story. Students will then be a part of a narrated performance complete with costumes. This play will be performed on the last day of class.   Each day of class, students will also have the chance to play fun theatre games that will help develop their acting skills and their ability to work with others.

The Voyage of Dr. Dolittle 12 7

3rd - 5th Grade: Ages: 8 - 12 years

November 2nd - December 15th, 2021

Tuesdays and Thursdays 4 - 5:30 pm

Why is Dr. Dolittle the most popular veterinarian in the country? Because he can talk to animals in their own languages! Soon Dr. Dolittle finds himself on a voyage to help animals in need. Based on the original stories by Hugh Lofting, the Voyage of Dr. Dolittle is one grand adventure. This class designed for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students starts with the experience of auditioning and continues with the creation of a character, memorization of lines and a full performance with costumes and makeup on December 17th and 18th at 7 pm.

Wacky Worlds 8 7

Preschool:  Ages 3 - 5

Fridays, October 1st - November 5th

11 am - Noon

Let’s journey to the bottom of the ocean, or into a world of magic! There are so many places our imagination can take us, and so many characters to be while we’re there. In this class designed just for 3 - 5 year olds, your young actor will create a character, learn a line and act out a new story. Along the way, through a variety of creative and dramatic games, students will learn theatre etiquette, develop their imagination, improve their self- confidence, and provide  social interaction within an organized class setting.
