A Christmas Story

A young boy named Ralphie Parker only wants one thing for Christmas: a Red Ryder BB gun. However, he is not sure he will ever make it to Christmas, between his brother Randy and the school bully Scut Farkus. Whenever he tells someone how much he wants it, he/she tells him that he will shoot his eye out and refuses to get it for him. Even a department store Santa Claus tells him the same thing. After Ralphie gets a C+, he gets teased again by Scut. In response, Ralphie beats him very badly while cursing loudly. However, his parents do not get mad at him, and on Christmas morning, he gets the BB gun, since his father had one at that age. When he goes to try it out, the bullet ricochets and knocks off his glasses, which he accidentally steps upon while looking for them. He makes up a story about an icicle, and his parents believe him. In the end, a horde of dogs come in and steal the Christmas turkey, so his family goes out for “Chinese turkey,” or duck.

Forbidden Broadway is a parody revue show that originally ran off-Broadway from 1982 to 2009. The early incarnations of the show spoofed musicals from the Golden Age and iconic performers like Ethel Merman and Carol Channing, but the format was quickly adapted to works in the current Broadway season. As the revue gained reputation, it became a pointof honor in the theatre community to have one's work parodied by Forbidden Broadway. Come Watch the Players take on Forbidden Broadway. Watch as we make fun of all the seriousness that Broadway boasts about.

Tom Terrific & the Missing New Years Baby (Adult) Tuesdays 35 34

A MELODRAMATIC START TO 2020—ACT will be doing 2 weekends of Melodrama to kick the year off right! We will host a melodrama competition and our own kids will be IN a melodrama. For those who are unfamiliar with the term think every teenage angst ever! (It’s the old black and white movie villain, hero, heroine scenario)

In this Melodrama (High Drama with a lot of overacting and silliness) Snidley Smee has stolen the baby New Year and all the town of holiday village is simply a buzz with panic. Without baby new year nothing will change. No new seasons, no new food, no new president! Oh the Horror! Will they find baby new year? Will Tom Terrific ever propose to Sweet Sally? Will Ophelia (the blind shop keeper) ever find her sandwich? Tune in the first two weeks of January to find out.
