Stories From Under The Big Top
Rising 2nd--10th Grade

Come one! Come all! Step right up! Watch the greatest stories on Earth come alive under the big top! It’s a circus full of laughter and lively storytelling as the ringmaster and players perform a variety of well-known tales such as “The Bremen Town Musicians,” “The Billy Goats Gruff,” “The Lion and the Mouse,” “Monkey See, Monkey Do” and “The Magic Fish.”
CAMP INFO.: Students will audition and everyone will be cast in the play on the first day of camp. No preparation needed. Audition will consist of cold readings from the script together. Everyone that enrolls will be cast in the play.
Memorization help will be needed at home, but lessons, rehearsals and tech/dress rehearsals will occur during camp hours. Students should dress comfortably with sneakers. No flip flops, boots, sandals or crocs. Students should bring their script, refillable water bottle, bag lunch, and snacks daily.

Join Peter Pan and Wendy Darling as they tell their tale of adventure and friendship. You’ll meet the dog Nana, who can’t stop the Darling children from following Peter and Tinkerbell through the nursery open window to Neverland. There, they make friends with the Lost Boys and Princess Tiger Lily as they encounter Captain Hook, his gang of wily pirates, and of course, the ticking crocodile.

The Fairy Tale Network is a television network that needs to improve its viewership ratings with exciting new programming. The three mice working as creative consultants for the studio each must come up with a story idea to pitch to their new chief, the Cat. And they need to pitch their ideas fast before they become a fancy feast! They retell the well-known tales of Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Pigs, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears, but now with new, unexpected twists. The crew of Busy Bees racing on props and sometimes even becoming the set pieces themselves makes this play a fast-paced comedy for all.

Hello, Shakespeare!

This fast-paced comedy is an entertaining way to introduce student actors and their audiences to the wonderful world of Shakespeare. A narrator and her irreverent helper comically provide a brief biography of the playwright, who appears in protest to make sure they get the details right. Drawing from Shakespeare’s long list of histories, comedies, and tragedies, a grand parade of the Bard’s most cherished and famous characters follows. They humorously reenact brief moments from their plays and recite famous lines in this whirlwind introduction to Shakespeare that has something for everyone.
