One time Master Class in Musical Theatre.

This registration is for students, parents, guests to attend this master class, which will include Q&A, Autograph and photo time.

See a Broadway performer coach performers of all ages on their prepared audition songs. Ask questions of the Broadway performer about how he got started, what he suggests for musical theatre students looking into theatre for college and professional, etc. 

This class is not just for students. Parents are encouraged to register as well. 

An audition will be held prior to the class for anyone that has registered for this class. Anyone registered that attends the audition will be considered to sign for Mr. Mauer during the master class. 

Broadway performer Gary Mauer most recently starred as the title role in the Broadway production of The Phantom Of The Opera. He also previously played the role of Raul in the Broadway production of  The Phantom Of The Opera and Enjorlas in the original Broadway run of LesMiserables. Other credits include: Broadway and National Touring companies of The Phantom Of The Opera and The Music Of Andrew Lloyd Webber. He was cast opposite his wife Elizabeth Southard in the National Tour of Harold Prince's Broadway Revival of Show Boat. Mr. Mauer was born in Phoenix, AZ and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Musical Theatre from the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Theatre Arts Workshop 6th-12th Grade Thursdays 6:00pm-7:00pm 15 9

THEATRE ARTS WORKSHOPS

6th--12th Grade

With different workshops and instructors each week, students will tackle fundamental skills for the stage in a fun and supportive environment. From Acting to Singing, Shakespeare to Improv, Broadway Dance and more. It's all right here in this Theatre Arts Workshop.

Students will practice basics of vocal production and discover how to express character through song. Connect your vocal skills to critical dramatic intention by focusing on songs as monologues and how the singer acts the song. 

Through improvisation and short scenes, students will use those skills to take risks, make strong character choices, and develop character relationships.

Students will also delve into theatre dance experience to strengthen dance vocabulary, technique, and performance skills with iconic choreographic styles from standout Broadway musicals. 

Each month is different. Join at any time. 

Winter/Spring 2019 Semester is February 1-May 25, 2019

Enrollment with GCT is highly recommended for youth that plan to audition for GCT productions.

This class will emphasize creative discovery through art and imagination. Students explore story, expression, and play through a multi-lens approach including storytime, creative dramatics, music and movement.

Each month is different. Join any time throughout the semester.
