Accordion sketchbooks are one of the simplest but most elegant book forms. It is a unique binding method that uses each page of the book as one continuous sheet. This opens up possibilities for creators to go beyond the limits of a single page. This is a versatile notebook suitable for any purpose, such as writing, drawing, pencil, ink, and collage. In this workshop participants will learn basic bookmaking techniques - materials needed, selecting paper, folding, joining paper, making hard covers, and decorating with handmade papers. Step into the world of book binding, the rest is still unwritten!

PA Panto is entering its 6 th year of existence and we want to share the fun! Come and join us in a week- long camp and learn how to Panto with us! Students will get a panto primer (no panto is complete without a heroine, lovebirds, a ‘baddie’, a hero, and a whole lot of singing and dancing), and then as a group they’ll rewrite their own fairy tale, produce, direct and star in it. They’ll create the backdrops and props, with the help of the camp director and camp counselors (all of whom act in our pantos), throughout the week. All of the fun and creativity ends in a production they can share with their friends, family and the whole community.

Join JFFA to tell your story through dance, poetry, essay, song, painting or a combination of all of them!

"Oh Yes You Did!" Performance

Time TBD, Sunday, July 23, 2023

at Field Hall Arts & Events Center

Students will spend camp time working to create their Panto production and on Sunday they'll perform it in Port Angeles's newest performing arts center as part of FHAEC's Community Days. Inability to make the final performance does not preclude your student from participating in camp. We have plenty of ways to be creative and help with the production without being a performer.

Have a student 13-17 years old that loves the Arts and wants to be involved? We'd love a great group of mentors to help with camp! Email us for more information!

About Camp Director, Shannon Cosgrove:

Shannon has been writing since she figured out what a pencil could do. She set her sights on playwrighting 10 years ago and is delighted with the results. Fiction is her next horizon, and her passion is observing people for material. When she’s not writing/producing/directing, she’s outside. She is currently Artist in Residence at JFFA, and is constantly looking for ways to share her love of writing with others. Shannon is the creator of PA Panto.
