ANNUAL YOUTH THEATRE WORKSHOP
Each summer The Lancaster Players offer a Youth Theatre Workshop with opportunities for creative expression, friendship, exploring the arts and having a whole lot of fun.
This one-week camp, directed by Robin Blake and Linda Stough, offers 8- to 18-year-olds the opportunity to explore theatre basics and guides participants through the overall theatre experience.
The week begins Sunday, August 2 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., with auditions for role selection and culminates in a fully costumed, memorized performance of Supervillians Anonymous and Fractured Fairy Tale at 2:00 p.m.. Saturday, August 8, at The Playhouse.
From 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., August 3-7, students will explore:
· Mime and vocal expression
· Memorization and teamwork
· Critical thinking through performance
· Face and body movements
· Dialogue interpretation
· Professional theatrical ethics
Practical Details:
- Students should bring their own lunches.
- Water and snacks will be provided at 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.
- Auditions for roles (lead, medium, and small) will be held at The Playhouse on Sunday, August 2, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Students are encouraged to audition for as many parts as they wish. Auditions help us tailor the workshop to each participant’s needs.
Tuition:
The fee is $125 per participant
*Limited number of scholarships are available
