Interns are an integral part of the Lake Country Playhouse Academy! Through hands-on experience and mentorship from our Academy team, interns build leadership skills while supporting classes, camps, rehearsals, and productions for younger students.
Interns must demonstrate the following qualities: Respectful, Passionate, Collaborative, Positive, Responsible, and Motivated.
Internship opportunities may include classroom support, directing, choreography, stage management, technical theatre, and production assistance.
Eligibility: Students in ages 12+ and college-level applicants
Previous experience: Experience working with youth is required. Completion of an Academy Production Workshop is recommended for some internship placements. |

A group of eager trainees arrives for their first day at a fictional Disney Imagineering studio, ready to discover what it takes to make dreams come true. Featuring beloved songs from two decades of Disney favorites, Dare to Dream JR. is an uplifting musical adventure about courage, collaboration, imagination, and finding the confidence to pursue your dreams.
Students in the Production Cast participate in a complete theatrical rehearsal and performance process while developing skills in acting, singing, dancing, character development, memorization, collaboration, and ensemble storytelling.

Young performers join the magic of Dare to Dream JR. through a specially designed introductory production experience! Little Dreamers learn age-appropriate songs, movement, staging, and ensemble storytelling before appearing in the full Academy musical.
This experience is designed to build confidence, coordination, memorization, rehearsal skills, and the excitement of performing as part of a theatrical ensemble.
Little Dreamers Ensemble Size: Approximately 8–10 students

Musical theatre is about more than singing the notes! Students learn to approach songs as actors by exploring lyrics, character, objectives, relationships, emotional transitions, and physical choices. This class encourages vocal expression, character development, confidence, and truthful storytelling through song.

No scripts—just fun! Students use their imaginations, take creative risks, and learn to be in the moment through energetic, game-based improvisation. Students work together to create characters, relationships, and scenes while practicing the essential improv principle of “Yes, and!” This class encourages collaboration, mental flexibility, confidence, and comedic timing.

You can’t stop the beat! Students learn foundational musical theatre dance skills and terminology while rehearsing choreography inspired by Broadway favorites. This class encourages coordination, confidence, musicality, movement retention, and storytelling through dance. No previous dance experience is required.
Each Broadway Dance session features different choreography, so students may enroll in either or both sessions.
*This is a 4 week class.

*Special Class Experience: The October 24 class will be extended so students can attend the 10:00 a.m. performance of Dare to Dream JR. and see their work in action. Admission to the performance is included in tuition.
