| BTM Adaptive Dance: Movement Exploration and Ballet Fundamentals Age 13+ (WS25BTM6) 1/7 | Tuesdays 6:30 - 7:30pm Class Dates: 01/07/25 - 05/20/25 Room 302 PRICE: $310.50 | 12 | 12 | This class is for ages 13+. The Ballet Theatre of Maryland believes in providing everyone with access and opportunity to explore movement and dance. Our adaptive dance program is an inclusive class that specializes in meeting the needs of individuals with mental and/or physical disabilities. This class promotes self-expression, enhances spatial awareness, improves motor skills and coordination, fosters cooperation and collaboration all while building a strong community. Students can expect to explore creative movement and learn the fundamentals of classical ballet. At the start of the first class, parents/caretakers will have the opportunity to disclose information to the instructor about the student’s disabilities/specific needs as a form of awareness to cater best to each student. In this class, students can wear athletic type clothing such as leggings, shorts, tighter fitting shirts and socks. If dance attire is desired, please refer to the dress code listed below. The attire for all classes, except where otherwise noted, is as follows Girls: Black leotard, nude or pink tights, and corresponding nude or pink ballet slippers. No jewelry. Attire for this class is as follows: Women: leotards, tights, skirts, warm-up pants. Hair should be pulled neatly off the face so it does not inhibit movement.
