This 7 week class will guide students through the principles of art in painting and drawing. The class will focus on the work of Henri Matisse. Each week will focus on a different Matisse work. This 7 week class will tech students the 5 basic hip hop steps. Class will culminate in learning an 8 count of hip hop. Students will need a good dance shoe or tennis shoe and a space big enough to move around.

This 7 week class will teach students the 5 basic tap steps. Class will culminate in students learning a basic tap combo. For enrollment, students do not need their own tap shoes, but will need a good hard sole shoe to move in and a space big enough to move around.

This class will combine a 4-week book study with a special 50-minute version of the play filmed with local professional actors! Reading the book independently is recommended for students 2-5th grade by the publisher, but the story can be read aloud for the entire family to enjoy! Class includes: -4 1-hour Book Club sessions including discussion of the themes, key words and story-based activities and crafts (live in person, live via Zoom or a recorded link) -A household admittance to Watershed Public Theatre's virtual production of CHARLOTTE'S WEB -A Q&A with a member of the cast or crew after the performance!

This 7 week session will use music and visual art to help students interpret their emotions. The instructor will play five samples of music (pop, jazz, rap, gospel, country). The student will listen to the selected song of genre. During playing of song the instructor will encourage the student(s) to seek within their inner souls and interpret with various art materials what the music says to them. After each song we will have a brief dialogue of what emotions the student(s) were feeling at the time of listening and interpretation.

This 30 minute session meeting for 3 weeks will take the student on a voyage through musical examples. Talking about how the music affects their feelings and how those feelings and theatre come together.

Taught by Martha Wilkinson
This 7 week course will teach students the fundamentals of approaching a script. Ms. Wilkinson is an award winning actor, having worked professionally in Nashville and around the Southeast for all of her adult life. She has great insight into the tools that every actor needs in their “toolbox”. The session will culminate with each student performing a 90 second monologue and getting private critique from the instructor.

This 5 week course will help each student learn the fundamentals of acting for the camera. The logistics of camera work vary greatly from stage work and Robin has over 30 years experience in both genres. Each week students will be given material to prepare for the next week. Robin will talk each student through hitting their marks and keeping their bodies in the frame. The class will culminate in each student performing a 30 second piece and getting private critique from both Robin and another professional actor.

This 4 week class will guide students through the mechanics of identifying properties needed for a show and how to locate or build them. The last session will be a tutorial on making ears of corn for OKLAHOMA from bubblewrap, paint and crepe paper. This class may involve a drop in to the space to pick up the supplies. |

This 7 week class will guide students through the fundamentals of writing a play. Knowing that all works of art have a beginning, middle and end, a play could consist of only 3 lines. Working from prompts provided by the instructor, each student will come away with an original work that sprang totally from their own imaginations. This 7 week course will teach students the fundamentals of directing. Beginning with script analysis and moving through the casting process, blocking, running a rehearsal, and ultimately letting the cast take over. The students will come away with the working vocabulary of a director, the working knowledge of the symbols and markings commonly used by Directors, Stage Managers, and Actors to mark blocking in their scripts, and an understanding of the casting process.

This 7 week course will help each student learn how to get to the heart of an audition song. Knowing what and why you are singing is just as important as how you are singing. This knowledge will be the extra boost that will help students land auditions. Class will culminate with each student singing 18 bars of their chosen song and getting private critique from the instructor.
