ANATOMY OF A SCENE (Grades 3-5) Mondays (Feb. 21 - April 11) 5:30 pm - 7pm Mondays 5:30 - 7pm 12 12

Scenes are the building blocks of a play, but what makes a strong scene? In this class, your child will dive into the technical elements of a scene. From determining objectives and tactics to dissecting the status of characters and the problems being solved within a scene, your child will develop their critical thinking skills as well as a technical foundation that will serve them in future rehearsals as they continue on their theatrical journey. Run, don't walk to this scene study class!

Anatomy of a Scene class will be taught by Mary Lynn Bain and will take place in the Black Box Theatre in the basement of the Old Courthouse Theatre Annex building located at 47 Spring St NW Concord, NC 28025. 

Anatomy of a Scene class for the Spring semester will consist of 1 class per week for a total of 8 weeks. All classes are 1.5 hours in duration. Tuition fees listed are for the entire 8-week course. No prorated classes will be offered. Tuition fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable.  All students will need to register prior to the first day of class. All students must be paid in full prior to the first day of class in order to participate.

All students must have a signed waiver and release form prior to participating in any class.

$260.00 per semester

PLAYWRIGHT'S APPRENTICE (Grades 6-8) Tuesdays (Feb. 22 - April 12) 5:30 pm - 7pm Tuesdays 5:30 - 7pm 12 12

Choose your own adventure! In this class, your child will learn how to start with an idea and end with a show. From brainstorming to workshopping ideas, scratching, and adding new problems and solutions, your child will learn how to collaborate with others, and create compelling characters in this exciting class. Showing family and friends an original piece will be a lifelong memory and a newfound appreciation for writing and theatre making.

Playwright's Apprentice class will take place in the Black Box Theatre in the basement of the OCT's Annex building located at 47 Spring St NW Concord, NC 28025.
