The Theatre Orangeville Youth Singers (T.O.Y.S.) continue to be an integral part of Theatre Orangeville’s mandate to offer quality programs for young people in our community, and this year they’re back with new opportunities!
Whether new to singing or experienced, T.O.Y.S. members will develop a general appreciation of vocal skills and receive specific training in choral singing. Emphasis on teamwork and ensemble performance will build up self-confidence in each member. During this Fall session of T.O.Y.S. participants will focus on skill development with performance opportunities, including a slot in our Fall Academy showcase on December 12th.
Under the direction of Ms. DuBois, The T.O.Y.S. will develop a micro showcase, highlighting their vocal abilities and emphasizing how costume and dance can enhance the choir experience from the singer's and audience member's perspective.
Rehearsal Dates:
Tuesdays 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM October 1st to December 3rd

The Theatre Orangeville Youth Singers (T.O.Y.S.) continue to be an integral part of Theatre Orangeville’s mandate to offer quality programs for young people in our community, and this year they’re back with new opportunities!
Whether new to singing or experienced, T.O.Y.S. members will develop a general appreciation of vocal skills and receive specific training in choral singing. Emphasis on teamwork and ensemble performance will build up self-confidence in each member. Members in both the fall and spring track will receive continuous training in skill development and performance training, with many opportunities to perform in front of live audiences including the Fall Academy showcase and starring in their own final spring production!
Under the direction of Ms. DuBois, in the fall session, T.O.Y.S. will develop a micro showcase, highlighting their vocal abilities as well as emphasizing how costume and dance can enhance the choir experience both from the singers' and audience members' perspectives. In the spring the TOYS will work with Ms, Dubios to develop their own fully supported show. Collaborating with our talented professional production team the choir will learn the importance of how theatrical design can help tell stories and create dynamic performances. Decked out with props, costumes, staging, lighting and choreography this spring show will choir members to have a full theatrical experience!

Participants will dive further into the fundamentals of theatre, learning how to create honest and genuine characters through improvisation, memorization, and personal experience, all the while honing the unique talents of individual participants to become confident and courageous actors. This program focuses on the development of trust and collaboration within the group, and the fuelling of spontaneity, and creativity.
This program culminates in a showcase performance!
(No prerequisite required).
Geared to grades 5 through 8
Weekly classes run Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, for 8 weeks

Participants broaden their social and developmental skills through a focus on team work, while building self-confidence through performance and exploring their imaginations. They will learn how to creatively problem solve with their peers, and how to confidently contribute their own ideas through the introduction of storytelling, improvisation, role-playing, scripted work, pantomime, voice and movement. This program culminates in a showcase performance
Geared to Grades 2 through 4
Weekly classes run from 6:30 to 8 PM for 8 weeks

This is an advanced program for those ready to take acting to the next level. This program focuses on intensive acting techniques and various disciplines of theatre. Participants will have the opportunity to build on their current skill base and explore new challenges and methodologies.
This program ends with an Academy showcase performance!
Geared to grades 9 through 12
Weekly classes running Wednesdays from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM for 8 weeks

October 21st to December 9th, 2024
T.O.E.P. is a skills-based theatre program using theatre games, music and improv for youth and adults with neuro-diversities. T.O.E.P. participants are encouraged and supported to reach beyond and develop not just theatrical skills, but self-confidence, teamwork skills, and new methods of self-expression.
Geared at grades 7 through high school
Weekly classes run from 5:00 to 6:30 PM, for 8 weeks
Meet and Greet for new students scheduled for October 7th
