CREW Apprentice: Foundations of Theater Tech

Ever wonder what all those buttons backstage actually do? CREW Apprentice is your entry point into the world of technical theater. As part of the CREW (Certified Regional Essential Worker) certification program, this hands-on course introduces students ages 11–18 to the core areas of backstage work—lighting, sound, props, costumes, and set.

Students will gain beginning experience using professional-grade gear like the ETC EOS lighting system, Behringer digital sound board, and Sennheiser wireless microphones. They’ll also learn basic theater safety, communication protocols, and how each tech area contributes to a successful performance. Participants will earn their first CREW patch and a Foundations certificate—your first step toward becoming a certified tech pro.

HITT (High Intensity Theater Training)

Get ready to move, sweat, and perform with power! HITT is not your average workout class—and it’s definitely not High Intensity Interval Training. But it is a high-energy, fast-paced theater training experience that blends cardio-style movement with full-out theatrical dance. Designed to boost stamina, strength, and stage presence, HITT gets teens on their feet and moving through fun, challenging choreography sequences that build endurance and keep the energy high.

Think of it as your weekly theater conditioning session—where musical theater meets movement training, and every class leaves you stronger, sweatier, and more stage-ready than before. Come ready to move and bring your water bottle—this one’s a workout in the best way.

Take the Stage

For our younger performers, Take the Stage is the perfect introduction to movement in musical theater. This class is designed for elementary-age students who are new to dance or still building confidence in their movement. Students will learn how to follow basic choreography, practice simple stage combinations, and get comfortable moving as a group. This is a great class for young actors who want to feel more at ease on stage while having fun with movement in a supportive, encouraging environment.

Step into the dazzling world of Bob Fosse and unlock the confidence of a Broadway star! This class teaches the precision, flair, and storytelling power of Fosse’s signature choreography. Students will learn to move gracefully in character shoes, developing both technique and stage presence.

Note: Students are required to provide their own character shoes.

Ready to level up? CREW Journeyman is the second step in the Certified Regional Essential Worker (CREW) pathway, focused on advancing your technical skills with in-depth training in lighting and/or sound. Rising Voices

Start strong and sing proud! Rising Voices is a vocal class for young performers who are ready to build a solid musical theater foundation. Students will learn age-appropriate vocal technique, explore pitch and tone, and begin developing healthy singing habits. Through upbeat group songs, character-driven exercises, and fun vocal warm-ups, students will learn how to support their sound, match pitch, and sing with clarity and confidence—all while having a great time with their peers. This is the perfect intro for kids who love to sing but want the tools to do it right.

It’s your turn in the spotlight. Take the Mic is a vocal performance class for teens ready to refine their sound and command the stage. Each week focuses on building vocal technique through musical theater repertoire—think breath control, vocal placement, diction, and storytelling through song. Students will work solo and in groups to develop confident, expressive performances while learning how to sing with intention and presence. Whether you’re auditioning for your next show or just looking to strengthen your voice, this class will help you find your sound and take the mic with confidence.

The Hero Inside: Evolution

It’s time to take your heroic journey to the next level. In this creative acting class for ages 11–14, students will dig deeper into character development, ensemble work, and theatrical storytelling. Each student will build an original superhero persona—but this time, the stakes are higher. What drives them? What haunts them? What happens when they face a powerful villain—or a tough choice? With improvisation, scene work, and world-building, students will sharpen their acting skills and explore what kind of hero they truly are.

The Hero Inside: Origins

In this imaginative, play-based acting class for ages 7–10, students will dream up their very own superhero characters—complete with powers, weaknesses, costumes, and backstories. Through games, storytelling, and improvisation, young actors will explore how heroes solve problems, build friendships, and rise to a challenge. Students will develop confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills as they bring their heroic alter egos to life in class-led adventures. Origins is a fun, supportive introduction to acting for new and returning students alike.

Click Into Character: Intro to Theatrical Tap

Make some noise and step into the spotlight with Click Into Character—a high-energy introduction to theatrical tap for students ages 11–18. In this beginner-friendly class, students will learn the essential building blocks of Broadway-style tap, including shuffles, flaps, cramp rolls, toe taps, and time steps, all while exploring how rhythm and movement bring characters to life.Led by Loralie (your favorite from All That Jazz), this class is perfect for students who are new to tap or looking to build confidence in dance. S2 CREW Master Certified: Production Internship & Leadership

CREW Master Certified: Production Internship & Leadership

The final step of the CREW (Certified Regional Essential Worker) program, Master Certified is a selective internship experience where students put their skills to work on a live production. Interns serve as Stage Managers or Lead Operators, helping prep, run, and troubleshoot during an actual show.

Beyond the booth, interns will mentor newer CREW students and complete leadership workshops in communication, conflict resolution, and professional readiness. Master Certified interns graduate with their final patch, a leadership certificate, and a personalized letter of recommendation recognizing their technical and leadership contributions.
