| LIL SLAM: SINGIN' IN THE RAIN | | LIL SLAM: SINGIN' IN THE RAIN
July 28-31st & Aug 4-7 & Aug 11-14 / 1-4pm / Meet at SCA / $100
In this process-oriented camp, kids entering grades 3 through 8 will explore the building blocks of musical theater and participate in fun activities resulting in a full theater production with SCA. Singin’ in the Rain Jr. is a 60 minute adaptation of the classic musical set in 1920’s Hollywood, focusing on the transition of silent films to “talkies.”
Registrants are considered a Super Pass Summer Member, allowing them to participate in any of our summer workshops!

This drop-off creativity program for ages 2 through 5 takes the Reggio Emilia approach of "process over product." Kids explore open-ended arts activities at their own pace, with the guidance of instructors. Painting, sculpture, loose parts, clay, puppet shows, instruments and more. CASTLE CAMP

Kids learn basic construction and use of tools, blueprint a structure, and collaboratively make a "castle." This supervised fun is a great way for kids to learn how to be responsible with tools!

Explore what it’s like to set the scene of a musical. Kids will explore elements of set building & design the scenery for our SLAM shows. |

CRANKIES PERFORMANCE

What is a crankie you ask? An old storytelling art form where a long illustrated scroll is hand-cranked through a viewing window. Kids will receive a pre-illustrated crankie & come up with the plot/storyline through their choice of performance. |

Learn a little bit of everything with each of our talented artists at The Lab! Each of the four days, your young artist will delve into each Lab Rat’s specialty, ranging from painting, botanical art, glasswork, and more.
INTRO TO THEATER

Kids will explore the building blocks of theater and participate in activities meant to strengthen their skills as an actor & performer. Sessions include theater games, stage combat, monologues, Shakespeare, and loads of fun.
PAGE TO STAGE

Kids will create short scenes or plays straight from their own imagination. After forming scripts, kids will then direct their shorts by staging their play with the theater interns.

EXPLORATORY PHOTOGRAPHY

Exploring the downtown area of Springville through the eyes of a camera, kids will learn how to make their own pinhole camera, and use traditional polaroid and film cameras.

Do you want to learn how to think quickly on your feet, learn some basic comedy skills, and become more comfortable talking in front of others? Weekly sessions include games, improv exercises, and a lot of laughs.
MUSIC & MOVEMENT

Combine the joy of music with physical movement! Learn to play different instruments while singing, dancing, and moving to the beat. Sessions will include intro to folk music, percussion, ukulele, and more! |
