Immerse yourself in the captivating world of natural dyeing and printing with the guidance of Mary Hermans from Nexus Healing Arts. In this workshop, creativity meets sustainability in the most beautiful way! Each participant will receive a blank, pretreated flour sack tea towel to transform into a work of art using the provided plants and food waste. Learn this traditional art/craft while connecting with nature and sharing space with like-minded folk.

In this class, we will mix colors using specialized paints and learn how to work with the flow of water to create one of a kind abstract patterns and experiment with different papers and printing materials. A brief discussion of traditional cultural patterns, such as Italian marbling, will also be covered. This class leaves plenty of room to experiment without a limitation or expected design execution. Cold and flu season is upon us, and it's a great time to support our immune system. Studies and tradition support the use of elderberry, echinacea, spilanthes, marshmallow (yes, it's a plant!), ginger, garlic, and more for avoiding and easing viral infections. Learn to identify or cultivate these plants, and how to safely and effectively use them for a healthy winter season. Participants will prepare a batch of elderberry syrup together and take home a 4 oz bottle and recipe. With herbalist Sarah Sorci.

During this workshop you will get cozy with 6-8 common tea herbs. First, we will do a traditional flight, tasting each brewed herb on its own, while learning a bit about the energetics of the plant and its physical actions on the body. Then we will review some basic guidance for blending herbs before moving on to each create our own unique tea blend!

In this class, Holistic Herbalist Sarah Sorci will share research-based info and traditional knowledge about how the culinary herbs in our cabinets and gardens can support our health. She'll spotlight herbs found in the Arts Cafe rooftop garden (such as thyme and oregano) plus other beloved, easy-to-grow plants. Each participant will prepare an herb-infused culinary vinegar to take home. Samples and recipes will be shared.

Get practical tips for getting started in recording voiceover from an industry professional! David Autovino's voice has starred in national commercials and independent films, represented international brands, and portrayed a long list of offbeat video game characters. Participants will discuss styles and acting techniques specific to the medium, record sample scripts using pro-grade microphones, and receive personalized feedback from David.
