| Accelerando Summer Strings Camp | | 35 | 35 | This summer program picks up right where Beginning Strings leaves off!
Accelerando is a two-week summer intensive for students who have just completed one of our Beginning Strings courses and/or have reached page 25 in Essential Elements Book 1. This camp will focus on retaining the skills learned through the Beginning Strings course, as well as learning fun new songs! Students will learn through singing, games, and playing their instruments. The program will culminate with a performance on the last day so that the students can show off what they have learned! Age range 7-18. Max class size of 35.
This camp will be held at Destin High School Band Auditorium from 9am-12pm, Monday-Friday, June 10-21.
Price $275 for 2 weeks. Students must be enrolled for both weeks. |
| Bluewater Elementary After School Beginning Strings Class A (M/W) | | 20 | 20 | Join Sinfonia Gulf Coast for an after-school program and learn to play the violin, viola, cello or bass. Class meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the music room at Bluewater Elementary School.

| Intermediate Strings (Strings Only) | | 60 | 60 | Intermediate Strings is an intermediate string ensemble for violin, viola, cello and double bass. Students range from ages 7-18 but generally consist of middle school students. Curriculum is centered around four-part string orchestra music. Rehearsals are held weekly on Sundays at Destin High School from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
2-3 years of experience necessary. Private lessons are strongly encouraged. Students are expected to practice regularly between rehearsals and will be performing as a group at least once per semester.

| SYO Sinfonietta Strings (Strings Only) | | 60 | 60 | Sinfonietta Strings is a beginning strings orchestra ensemble for violin, viola, cello and double bass. Students range from ages 7-18 but generally contain later elementary to early middle school students. Curriculum is centered around the last half of Essential Elements Book 1. This is the next group after completing one year of After School Beginning Strings. Rehearsals are held weekly on Sundays at Destin High School from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
1- 2 years of experience and/or completion of the Beginning Strings course is neccessary. Private lessons are strongly encouraged. Students are expected to practice regularly between rehearsals and will be performing at least once per semester.

| SYO Symphony Orchestra | | 60 | 60 | The SYO Symphony Orchestra is intended for advanced string, brass, wind and percussion students. Students range from Middle to High School students. This group has multiple performance opportunities throughout the semester, as well as the opportunity to study chamber music. Rehearsals are held weekly on Sundays at Destin High School from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
At least 2 years of experience is required for all brass, woodwind and percussion students. All students must pass an audition to be accepted into this group. Auditions are held at the beginning of every fall and spring semester.
Private lessons are strongly encouraged. Students are expected to practice regularly between rehearsals and have multiple opportunities as a group to perform each semester.
