May 28 - June 27 (5:30 p-8:30p, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday), and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. (Saturdays).  We will likely also have rehearsal Wednesday, June 26.

It's time to carry the banner on your stage with Disney's Newsies! Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!

Your student will get a taste of putting together a full-length production -- music rehearsals, dance rehearsals, and memorizing a script!

Come learn about lights, sound, and even more technical theater.

This workshop will train you to be ready to help bring a show together and make your actors shine!

Clinician David Kaul has been in theatre consistently since 1982. He has a BA from the University of Alabama and an MA from LA Tech. For 15 years, he was the Tech Director for the Strauss Theatre Center and its General Manager for two. He has been the Production Designer for The Miss Louisiana Pageant, the Coca-Cola centennial celebration, and has designed sets for local television stations. He was the Art Director for the movie Fearless Faith. David has designed prolifically for all the arts organizations of NELA. Since 2000, Mr. Kaul is also a LA state-licensed contractor in the specialty of stage lighting, rigging, and drapery installations. He is a past President of stagehands union I.A.T.S.E., local 668; Adjunct Faculty for ULM and LDCC; Instructor and TD at GSU since 2105, where he served as a Faculty Senator, on the University Curriculum, and Judicial Affairs Committees. Based on the classic animated film, Disney's 101 Dalmatians KIDS is a fur-raising adventure featuring Cruella De Vil, Disney's most outrageous villain, and 101 of the most adorable heroes to set their paws onstage. With a high-spirited score and lovable characters, this stage adaptation is certain to charm and delight all audiences.

Pet owners, Roger and Anita, live happily in London with their Dalmatians, Pongo and Perdita, stalwart dogs devoted to raising their puppies. Everything is quiet until Anita's former classmate, the monstrous Cruella De Vil, plots to steal the puppies for her new fur coat. The Dalmatians rally all the dogs of London for a daring rescue of the puppies from Cruella and her bumbling henchmen.
