Want to brush up your performance skills, prepare for an upcoming audition, or work on *that* song? Just want to build your musical theatre muscles with some of the best? This is the place for you! Schedule an appointment with our faculty for some one-on-one training. Call the theatre to discuss your needs and we’ll develop a plan for you. You can select any number of 30-minute or 60-minute sessions based upon your goals. Call for rates.  

B. Life Is A Cabaret 15

Life is a Cabaret (throughout the summer)

For 9th to 12th grade only 

Developing and performing in your own cabaret is a performer’s dream. The student will be matched with a mentor to help develop a cabaret which will be performed at summer’s end at Town Theatre or at another location within the community. This opportunity is designed for the seasoned student performer who can work independently after consultation with his or her cabaret mentor. The student will also work with theatre management on marketing his or her event as well as spend time with an accompanist in preparation for the final event. This opportunity is limited to 5 participants. The fee will cover rights and royalties, music acquisition as well as stipends for the mentor and accompanist. Fee: $300

G. VIRTUAL: Frozen Too! 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM 10

Did you miss out on our Fall 2019 youth theatre production of Frozen Jr., or were you in it and want to take a walk down memory lane? This is the camp for you! Explore characters like Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Sven, and the songs and scenes that bring their story to life under the direction of Youth Theatre Director, Megan Douthitt. We’ll “Let it Go” and have a great time “In Summer,” all while learning the meaning of “Hygge”! At week’s end, families and friends will be able to virtually enjoy a showcase of the camp’s activities.

H. VIRTUAL: Take a Walk on Broadway's Wild Side 11:00 AM - 12:00 noon 8

Actors are often called upon to play all types of roles – even those that are not human! Come take part in this camp that will help you prepare to portray musical theatre characters from the animal kingdom! Students will learn and perform two songs and scenes from The Jungle Book and The Little Mermaid under the direction of Youth Theatre Instructor, Scott Vaughan. At week’s end, families and friends will be able to virtually enjoy a showcase of the camp’s activities.

I. VIRTUAL: The Show Must Go Online 11:15 AM - 12:45 PM 10

A frazzled drama teacher sends a video message to her students from her home office, announcing that their production of Brushes with Greatness: The Dental Hygiene Musical has been cancelled! She tries to hang up, but accidentally leaves the camera running, as she receives a phone call from the principal who tells her: without the musical, the drama program will be shut down. The students take it upon themselves to find a way to save the day and take the show ONLINE!

Students will create the show from “places” to curtain call in this virtual musical created by Beat by Beat. This camp is under the direction of Youth Theatre Director, Megan Douthitt, and Town Theatre Vocal Instructor, Hannah Thompson.

K. VIRTUAL: Take a Walk on Broadway's Wild Side 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM 10

Students will learn and perform two songs and scenes from The Lion King and Seussical under the direction of Youth Theatre Instructor, Scott Vaughan. At week’s end, families and friends will be able to virtually enjoy a showcase of the camp’s activities.

L. VIRTUAL: Digging Deeper 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM; 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM 10

This intensive is the perfect opportunity for the theatre student who wishes to dig deeper into rich and meaningful roles. We’ll focus on character development, collaboration dynamics for successful performance, rehearsal strategies and intriguing content from a published play. The play will be selected based on enrollment. Examples include Our Town, Searching for David's Heart, Trifles, The Great Pandemonium and more!

M. VIRTUAL: Theatre in a Box 11:00 AM - 12:00 noon 10

Join us for this fantastic camp where we focus on different elements of a stage production – character, make up, props, background scenery and even make up! Each day we’ll dive into one theatrical element as we explore characters from the classic show, Willy Wonka. Youth Theatre Instructor Scott Vaughan will lead the camp with a scenic session guided by Corey Langley, Town’s Assistant Technical Director and a prop building session taught by Danny Harrington, Town’s Technical Director.
