Interested in joining the Town Teen Troupe and want to give it a try? This musical theatre intensive is the right camp for you! Students will work on proper techniques in voice, acting, and movement for the stage, as well as making connections to a performance piece. A musical theatre youth cabaret will be presented at week’s end with the goal to perform in a local restaurant. Current T3 students are strongly encouraged to participate. Students who are not currently in T3, but who seek membership, may use the week’s end showcase as an audition for the group.

Storytellers

Rising K - 4th grade

August 3-7

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Children are naturally gifted storytellers and this camp is designed to get those creative juices flowing! Using children’s books, (examples: “The Rooster Who Would Not Be Quiet”, “Titch the Tiddler”, “What Small Rabbit Heard”, and “Tacky In Trouble”) students will use their incredible imaginations to bring the stories to the stage! Our young performers will learn about thoughtful placement on the stage, narration and developing characters without relying on scenery or many props. At week’s end, a showcase will be presented for friends and family.

A Look Ahead

Rising 5th - 9th grade

August 3-7

12:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Explore songs and scenes from the upcoming shows of the 102nd mainstage season: 42nd Street, Elf, The Red Velvet Cake Wars, Bright Star and Jekyll & Hyde. Many of our youth performers have expressed their excitement over participating in mainstage shows and taking on challenging roles. We think they ought to have that chance! This week will be focused on learning about different styles of musical theatre, using the upcoming 102nd season as examples. We will pull appropriate scenes and songs from those shows to put the lessons into action and a showcase will be presented at week’s end for family and friends.
