| A. Rock the Stage | 9 AM to 12 noon | 15 | | Imagine stepping into a world where the stage is your playground, the spotlight is yours to command and music fills the air. With our Rock the Stage summer camp, here is your chance to become all out rock stars! This dynamic youth theatre workshop offers students the chance to learn to play a musical instrument, develop stage presence and perform as part of a real rock band.
Students will work as a team during the initial week of camp. Check ins will be scheduled throughout the summer with small groups. Then, the students will return for one final "mic check" on Thursday, August 7 (from 4 PM to 7 PM) before their showcase on Friday, August 8 at 7 PM. Upon enrollment, students will receive a questionnaire to answer in advance so our faculty will be ready to start rocking out on the very first day! No instrument experience is necessary - just a willingness to learn!
This workshop will be led by Julia Turner, Richland One's 2024-2025 Induction Teacher of the Year from AC Moore and Brandon Johnson, Director of Bands at Irmo High School. |
| B. Give My Regards to Broadway | 1 PM - 4 PM | 15 | | Do you always seem to be “on stage” even when a stage is nowhere to be found? If this describes you, then come sing and dance on Town's stage. We'll explore all the elements of creating a performance for the stage, including voice, movement and character development. At week's end, you'll star in a musical theatre production! |
| C. The Little Mermaid Exclusive Back Stage Pass | 1 PM-4PM | 6 | | Interested in theatre but prefer to be behind the scenes? Dive in with both feet as we create props and help paint part of this unbelievably fun show. This hands-on workshop will be created by Town’s Technical Director, Jeremy Hansard, and our scenic designer, Bob Bramhall. Due to the hands on nature of this workshop, enrollment is limited to six students. Sign up early if you have the desire to help make The Little Mermaid come to life. |
| D. Musical Theatre Bootcamp: Beauty and the Beast | 9 AM-12 noon | 15 | | It's one of the most exciting weeks of summer camp at Town – back by popular demand – the Musical Theatre Bootcamp! Students will focus on different aspects of the show, Beauty and the Beast! From scene study to musical numbers incorporating vocals and dance, students will ultimately participate in a showcase featuring their work. Students will work on costume or prop creation as well – making this camp an immersive week in theatre arts bringing the whole musical theatre experience together. The students will participate in a joint showcase ON THE TOWN THEATRE STAGE on Friday evening, June 20 at 7:00 PM. Cost of camp includes two showcase tickets as well as costume/prop supply cost which will be sent home with the student. Additional $5 tickets will be available for purchase. |

Theatre in a Box: Prince and Princess Style | 9 AM-12 noon | 15 | | Your little prince or princess will love this glamorous camp, where every performer gets to play their favorite prince or princess! Students will explore the basics of theatre and character development. The camp will be even more magical as we will have a very special visit from fellow royalty courtesy of our princess friends at Magnolia Magic Company. The week will conclude with a performance for friends and family. Each student will receive their own royal box complete with everything needed to make every moment of this camp magical! |

Campers enrolled in our Prince and Princess Camp will stay from 12 noon to 12:30 PM.Campers in our Musical Theatre Cabaret workshop will arrive early (at 12:30 PM) for their tap class. No shoes? | I. Musical Theatre Cabaret | 1 PM-5 PM | 15 | | This workshop mirrors the popular 24-Hour Musical Theatre craze but on a smaller, more manageable scale for those interested in performing a show after just a few days (and some sleep!). Students will send in a virtual audition and be cast in musical theatre scenes, but they won’t know their roles(s) until they arrive on day one! After the big casting reveal, students will work on songs, scenes and dances that reflect their age group and will be performed on Friday, June 27 at 6 PM. Due to the advanced work that needs to be done, students must enroll no later than June 2. Virtual auditions will be due by June 9. Details will be sent upon enrollment on how to make this happen (but don’t worry, parents, your kids probably already know!) Tuition includes two tickets which will be sent home with the student. Additional $5 tickets will be available for purchase. This camp is designed for students with some performance experience, but new students may also enroll after conversation with camp faculty. The goal is to make sure this is the best fit for our students! |

Using musical theatre songs and scenes as our backdrop, this camp will help students strengthen their confidence and learn valuable presentation skills, all while living out their dream to be a Broadway star! Students will also work as an ensemble where they will learn how important it is to share the spotlight. Camp will conclude with a showcase at week's end where friends and family will be yelling, "Bravo!" |
| M. Take a Walk on Broadway's Wild Side | 9 AM-12 noon | 15 | | Actors are often called upon to play all types of roles – even those that are not human! Come take part in this camp that will help you prepare to portray musical theatre characters from the animal kingdom! Students will learn and perform songs and scenes from shows like The Jungle Book, Tarzan, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid. At week's end, families and friends will be invited to watch students ROAR and SOAR with prepared songs and scenes. |

| O. Auditions Dates are Set. Now What? | 1 PM-4 PM | 15 | | A natural part of theatre is the dreaded audition. However, with a little insider help, your student will come away with some "tricks of the trade" to perfect that process. This workshop will give you the tools you need to walk into your next audition feeling ready and confident. Learn how to break through the uncertainty of learning a new piece and owning your audition in a fun, safe and constructive environment. You'll experience coaching on a monologue and a short vocal performance piece. We'll discuss relaxation and focusing techniques. By week's end, we will hold a mock audition so you can practice what you have learned. We can't promise to make those butterflies go away, but we can tell you how to tame them so that your next audition is all that it can be! |
| P. Town's Triple Threat | 9 AM-4 PM | 30 | | Sing Dance Act! You can have it all! Join us for an all-in (yet extremely rewarding!) camp for students who are eager to explore performing on a regular basis and perhaps even study theatre in high school and/or college. We’ll spend our days developing performance pieces (scenes as well as musical selections) that focus on the whole performer (vocals, movement and character).
A typical day at Triple Threat includes group warmups followed by small group work in tap, musical theatre dance, voice work and scene study. Enjoy learning from diverse faculty with expertise in their focus area. A lunch break takes place midday where students can relax before an afternoon of continued study. An end-of-day debrief concludes each session. At week’s end, students will present a showcase for friends and family.
This workshop is the perfect opportunity for current Town Tween Troupe members and others who may be interested in the program. Students who present themselves as potential members of Town Tween Troupe may be contacted to audition. |
| Q. Shuffle Shuffle Ball Change | 9 AM-12 noon | 30 | | Come tap your cares away with this tap intensive workshop. Led by instructors from the SC Music and Dance Academy, students of all ages and levels are welcome! Beginning students will start with the basics and move on to more advanced steps. Advanced dancers can hone already learned skills and progress even more! At the end of the week, students will be ready for a musical theatre tap showcase. Note this class is open to ages 6 and up. Students will be divided by age and ability. |
| R. 5-6-7-8 Dance Call! | 1 PM-4 PM | 15 | | Get ready to leap, turn and shine in this high-energy musical theatre dance camp designed for experienced teen performers! From the electrifying choreography of & Juliet to the classic style of The Great Gatsby and the fierce moves of Six, this camp will have you mastering show-stopping routines straight from Broadway. Each day, you'll dive into a new dance style – jazz, tap, hip-hop and more – while learning iconic choreography from hit musicals. Perfect your technique, build confidence and bring your storytelling skills to life through movement. Whether you're aiming for the ensemble or the spotlight, this camp is your chance to dance like you're already on the Great White Way. This workshop will be led by Joy Alexander, AMDA Graduate, USC Faculty, Town Theatre T3 Faculty and Town Theatre choreographer. |
