A. MUSICAL THEATRE BOOTCAMP (Rising K to Rising 4th 101 Dalmations) June 12-16 9 AM - 12 PM 15 Sold out

This camp is the perfect “all in one” musical theatre experience!

Students will focus on different aspects of the show, 101 Dalmations, and will work toward presentation pieces for the showcase. The class will learn performance numbers from their show that incorporate different types of dance. Scenes will be created to allow each student the opportunity to work on character development and line delivery. In addition, students will work on costume or prop creation - bringing the whole musical theatre experience together.

All MUSICAL THEATRE BOOTCAMPS will have a joint showcase ON THE TOWN THEATRE STAGE on Friday evening, June 16 at 7:00 PM.

Cost of camp includes two showcase tickets as well as costume/prop supply cost. Additional $5 showcase tickets will be available for purchase.

B. MUSICAL THEATRE BOOTCAMP (Rising 5th to Rising 7th - 13: The Musical) June 12-16 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM 15

This camp is the perfect "all in one" musical theatre experience! Students will focus on different aspects of the show, 13: The Musical, and will work toward presentation pieces for the showcase. The class will learn performance numbers from their show that incorporate different types of dance. Scenes will be created to allow each student the opportunity to work on character development and line delivery. In addition, students will work on costume or prop creation - bringing the whole musical theatre experience together. This camp is the perfect “all in one” musical theatre experience! Students will focus on different aspects of the show, Mean Girls, and will work toward presentation pieces for the showcase. The class will learn performance numbers from their show that incorporate different types of dance. Scenes will be created to allow each student the opportunity to work on character development and line delivery. In addition, students will work on costume or prop creation - bringing the whole musical theatre experience together.

D. MAGIC TREEHOUSE ADVENTURES! (Rising K to Rising 4th) June 19-23 9 AM - 12 PM 15

Join Jack and Annie from The Magic Treehouse book series and you might find yourselves walking with dinosaurs one day and then dueling with pirates the next day! Every class will be a surprise adventure as students create their own stories. The possibilities are endless with great imagination!

E. PROPS DESIGN WORKSHOP (Rising 5th to Rising 8th) June 19-23 1 PM - 4 PM 15

Students will learn various design techniques and gain an understanding of theatrical prop construction and set dressing. Students will apply the skills learned throughout the week and use them to create actual props to be used in our summer show, The Wizard of Oz. Students should wear clothes they can get paint on as well as closed-toe shoes. As an added bonus, students in this camp will receive a discount coupon to see the summer show so they can see their work on stage!

F. FAR FAR AWAY IDOL (Rising 1st to Rising 4th) June 26-30 9 AM - 12 PM 15

Join us as we bring out our inner green in this Shrek-themed camp. Come learn songs and dances that are sure to bring out your most obnoxious ogre, delightful donkey or fabulous Fiona! The camp structure will reflect components of the end credits scene from Shrek 2. In that theme, students will begin to learn how to self-evaluate and improve their performance skills. At week's end, a showcase will be presented for friends and family.

G. Camp Tap Tap Tap Away! (add on session week of June 26) 12 PM 15

Looking to add a 30-minute tap lesson to your camp experience? We've got you covered! For just $40, you can be one of those dancin' feet with a personalized tap lesson. Dancers are separated by age and experience.

Campers also enrolled in Camp Far Far Away Idol will stay another 30 minutes for this class. Campers enrolled in our Theme Park Performer Workshop will arrive early (at 12 PM) for their tap experience. There will be a quick break between Camp Tap Tap Tap Away and the afternoon session.

H. THEME PARK PERFORMER WORKSHOP (Rising 9th to Rising 12th) June 26-30 1 PM - 4 PM 15

Dream of Disney? Fancy working in Florida? Want to understand all that is needed to take on Universal? In this workshop, students will be introduced to the world of performing in theme parks. Come learn more about character performers in the parks and at parties. Get hands-on training for scare acting in haunted houses. Receive insight into musical revue performers and other whimsical acting roles you see at major theme parks worldwide. This is a great opportunity for those who may be interested in performing in theme parks or for those who just want to brush up on their character acting. And what's better than an instructor who worked as an animated performer and scare actor at Univeral, David LaTorre? There will be a showcase at week's end that focuses on the various aspects of theme park performance.

I. MUSICAL THEATRE CABARET (Rising 3rd to Rising 9th) July 5-8 9 AM - 4 PM 15

This workshop mirrors our 24-Hour Musical Theatre Countdown but on a smaller, more manageable scale for those interested in performing a show just after a few days. Students will send in a virtual audition and be cast in musical theatre scenes, but they won't know their role(s) until they arrive on day one! After the big casting reveal, students will work on songs, scenes and dances that reflect their age group and will be performed on Saturday, July 8 at 7 PM.

Due to the advanced work that needs to be done, students must enroll no later than June 1. Virtual auditions will be due by June 16. Details will be sent upon enrollment on how to make this happen (but don't worry, parents, your kids probably already know!).

Cost of camp included two tickets to the cabaret which will be sent home with the student.  Additional $5 tickets will be available for purchase.  

This camp is designed for students with prior theatre experience and is limited to 15 participants.

J. BROADWAY, HERE I COME! (Rising K to Rising 4th) July 10-14 9 AM - 12 PM 15 Sold out

If you have ever dreamed of seeing your name in lights, this Broadway-inspired camp is for YOU!  This camp will give students the opportunity to work individually to strengthen their confidence, learn valuable characterization and presentation skills, all while living out their dream to be a Broadway star! Students will also work as an ensemble where they will learn how important it is to share the spotlight. Camp will conclude with a showcase where friends and family will be yelling, "Bravo!"

L. Theatre in a Box: The Wizard of Oz (Rising K to Rising 4th) July 17-21 9 AM - 12 PM 15

Join us for this Oz-some camp where we focus on different elements of a stage production - character, props, background scenery and even costumes! Each day we'll dive into various theatrical elements as we explore characters, scenes and songs from The Wizard of Oz. Who knows, we may even have a special visitor or two? Students will receive their own theatre box complete with all the materials needed to immerse themselves in the land of Oz. Town's unique Theatre in a Box camp will conclude with a showcase which is part performance and part sharing of individual work that was done. Students should wear clothes that can get paint on as well as closed-toe shoes.

N. IT'S ALL UP TO YOU! A NEW WORKS FESTIVAL (Rising 7th to 12th) July 17-21 10 AM - 2 PM 10

Ever wanted to write and star in your own production? Here is your chance! Town Theatre will be hosting this intensive for budding theatre students can engage in playwrighting, acting and directing of their own work. The process will take place under the direction of Marybeth Berry, Associate Professor of Theatre and Speech at the University of South Carolina Lancaster. Don't miss the chance to creatively collaborate with other youth artists. 

O. THEATRE IN A BOX: NEWSIES Rising 5th to Rising 8th) July 17-21 1 PM - 4 PM 15

Let's "Seize the Day!" as we all become "The King of New York!" The camp will focus on different Newsies elements including character, props, background scenery and even costumes! Each day we'll dive into various theatrical elements as we explore characters, scenes and songs from Newsies. Students will receive their own theatre box complete with all the materials needed to enjoy this hands-on camp. Town's unique Theatre in a Box camp will conclude with a showcase which is part performance and part sharing of individual work that was done. P. TOWN'S TRIPLE THREAT (Rising 4th to 8th) July 24-28 9 AM - 4 PM 30

Sing Dance Act! You can have it all! Join us for an intense (yet extremely rewarding!) camp for students who are eager to explore performing on a regular basis and perhaps even study theatre in high school and/or college. We’ll spend our days developing performance pieces (scenes as well as musical selections) that focus on the whole performer (vocals, movement, and character). Enjoy learning from diverse faculty with expertise in their focus area. An end-of-week showcase will allow students to present their hard work to friends and family.

Great for current Town Tween Troupe members and others who may be interested in the program. Students who present themselves as potential Town Teen Troupe may be contacted to audition.

This camp is also a vehicle for students who may be interested in participating in the Town Tween Troupe.

Q. Trolls: Best Day Ever (Rising k to 4th) Monday, July 31 9 AM - 12 PM 15

Come have the best day ever as we have fun learning songs and dances using the popular movie series Trolls

R. The Magical World of Wizards and Beasts (Rising 5th to 8th) Monday, July 31 1 PM - 4PM 14

Join us at Hogwarts as we create stories using themes from the Wizarding World to do scene work as well as making their own wand. Students are encouraged to bring house robes and any other wizarding outfits they would like. 

S. Going Off Script (Rising 3rd to 5th) Tuesday, August 1 9 AM - 12 PM 15

This class is designed to introduce kids to an essential aspect of stagecraft. Students will be able to create characters, challenge their imagination and focus on teamwork and communication in a low-pressure environment using improv. Students will be led in basic games and exercises that are meant to be fun for newcomers as well as allow more experienced performers to challenge themselves while still having fun. This class is perfect for students who may have other activities that they are involved with this summer and don’t necessarily have the time to memorize lines outside of class or for those who become bored with repetition. (Bring lunch and stay for our Shakespeare workshop at 1 PM!)

Let's investigate Shakespeare's works because WE WEREN'T TAUGHT THE GOOD STUFF! In this workshop, we will try out famous Shakespeare scenes and discover unknown treasures of not-so-famous scenes and characters. We'll figure out Shakespeare's "old-timey" words in today's times and break down the confusing bits in a no-pressure, welcoming exploration. And most importantly, we'll use The Bard's works to become better actors! This workshop will be taught by actress Katie Mixon. (Campers who are in 6th to 8th grades, bring lunch and stay for our Improv workshop at 1 PM!)

Y. Mysterious Mysteries (Rising K to 4th) Thursday, August 3 9AM - 12 PM 15

Grab your magnifying glass, your fingerprinting set, and let’s solve a mystery! Students will get to make up their own mystery stories as well as working together to solve a mystery themselves. Children with big imaginations will enjoy this camp as they get to search high and low to find out who dunnit!

Z. Jedi Master Camp (Rising 5th to 8th) Thursday, August 3 1 PM - 4 PM 15

Students will learn basic stage combat skills as they create scenes using inspiration from the Star Wars series. Young Padawans will create their own lightsabers and learn how to safely use them in our training program. Follow your destiny and start your mission with us for one day only! 

ZZ. Descendants: Rotten to the Core (Rising K to 4th) Friday, August 4 9 AM - 12 PM 15

Back by popular demand from last summer, join us as we learn songs and dances from the Descendants movie franchise. Come live out your inner villain as you have fun being the bad guy for once!

ZZZ. Acting Intensive (Rising 6th to 12th) Friday, August 4 1 PM - 4 PM 15

Students will have the opportunity to work on audition skills such as virtual auditions, slating, cold reads, and working together on scenes. This is a great class for all levels to challenge themselves as performers as well as working as a team.
